About

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m a believer that life doesn’t have to go exactly as planned to become something meaningful. In fact, some of the most rewarding chapters are the ones we never saw coming.

Writing Forward is where I share stories, lessons, and reflections on building a life with purpose. You’ll find thoughts on family, relationships, lifelong learning, midlife wellness, home and gardening, personal growth, and the everyday moments that quietly shape who we become.

By day, I work in project management, helping people and organizations solve problems, improve processes, and create meaningful experiences. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me in the garden acting like I know what I’m doing, coming up with the next home project, creating something in the kitchen, or writing about what life is teaching me.

Like many people, I’ve experienced unexpected turns, difficult seasons, and opportunities to begin again. Those experiences have taught me that resilience isn’t about having a perfect story; it’s about continuing to move forward with hope, curiosity, and grace.

This blog isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about asking good questions, sharing what I’m learning, celebrating small victories, and encouraging others who are writing their own next chapter.

Whether you’re navigating change, pursuing new goals, rediscovering yourself, or simply looking for encouragement, I hope you’ll find something here that reminds you you’re not alone.

Let’s keep writing forward—one page at a time..

A close-up of a single page in a journal, its surface textured and slightly off-white, filled with handwritten sentences that gradually fade into soft blur toward the bottom. At the top of the page, an empty line waits, illuminated by a narrow beam of golden hour sunlight coming in from the left, creating a luminous band across the paper and pronounced shadow from the pen’s tip. The journal rests on a woven linen table runner, with a blurred hint of green leaves in the background. Photographic realism, shot from a low, side angle with extreme shallow depth of field, capturing the quiet tension between what has been written and what is yet to come.

Notes from a Life Rewritten

Life rarely follows our outline. Here, I write through the detours—gardening mishaps, grief, small victories, and porch-swing revelations—searching for meaning in what we didn’t plan and inviting you to pause, notice, and keep going.

Occasional reflections and new posts, quietly delivered.

A serene bedroom writing nook, featuring a narrow wooden desk tucked beneath a dormer window that looks out onto a canopy of late-summer trees. On the desk, an open journal, a stack of well-worn paperback books with folded corners, and a small ceramic dish holding dried flower petals create layers of texture. A knitted throw is draped over the back of a simple wooden chair. Soft, golden late-afternoon light pours through the window, creating warm pools of illumination on the desk and gentle shadows along the floorboards. Photographic realism, wide-angle shot with balanced composition, evokes quiet resilience, introspection, and the slow, deliberate work of shaping one’s life through words.
